Sometimes families need a little breathing room — and Water’s Edge is here to provide it. Our respite care program offers short-term stays with award-winning, personalized care in a warm, familiar environment. With a staff-to-resident ratio that exceeds state standards and a dedicated team of full-time caregivers and nurses, your loved one is in the best possible hands.

What is Respite Care?

Respite care provides short-term stays, typically ranging from a few days to several weeks, for older adults who need temporary assistance with daily activities. At Water’s Edge, respite guests receive the same level of personalized care and services available to our long-term assisted living residents, including help with activities of daily living, medication management, meals, and social programming.

For family caregivers, a respite stay offers meaningful relief — time to attend to personal responsibilities, take a vacation, or simply recharge — knowing that a trusted, professional team is looking after their loved ones. It’s a resource that supports the whole family, not just the person receiving care.

Respite care is ideal for:

  • Recovering from surgery, illness, or a hospital stay
  • Giving a family caregiver a temporary, well-deserved break
  • Exploring senior living before making a long-term decision
  • Providing a safe, supportive change of scenery for your loved one
