What is Sandhill Cove?

Sandhill Cove is a vibrant, waterfront community located in Palm City, Florida. It’s designed for active, independent-minded people age 62 and older, with a host of resort-style services and amenities that make the most of coastal living. You’ll enjoy maintenance-free living, gourmet dining and a daily schedule of activities and events. And as Martin and St. Lucie counties’ only LifeCare® community, you secure lifetime access to quality, on-site health care at predictable rates.

What is LifeCare® and how does it benefit me? 

LifeCare® at Sandhill Cove is care for life. It offers residency, a wide range of community services and amenities and long-term care for as long as you need it. If you ever need a higher level of care, your monthly fee remains the same excluding ancillary charges. (Please ask to see a contract for details.) You can face the future with confidence, knowing your health care costs are predictable and that you never have to leave the campus if your health needs change in the future.

What kinds of homes do you offer?

Apartment homes and villas are completely transformed to your taste before you move in. They are offered in a variety of sizes, styles and floor plans. All have spacious living and dining spaces, modern kitchens, and large windows with plantation shutters. Upgrade packages give you the option to design your own space with wood floors, ugraded carpet, tile, custom built-ins and much more.

  • Apartment homes feature 1- and 2-bedroom layouts with garden or waterfront views. Some include a den/home office, guest bathroom or patio.
  • Villas feature 2-bedroom, 2-bath layouts, and include a den/home office, a lanai or enclosed Florida room, porch and one-car, attached garage.

Is Sandhill Cove pet-friendly?

Yes! We love our furry companions! Your cats or smaller-size dogs (up to 2 cats or 2 dogs under 30 pounds) are welcome here.

What does it cost to live at Sandhill Cove?

Fees depend on the size and type of residence you choose. An entrance fee is paid upon move-in, and provides lifetime access to services at our on-site Health Center, Water’s Edge. A flexible Return-of-Capital Plan refunds 75% of your entrance fee back to your estate. A recurring monthly fee covers your use of daily services and amenities.

Possible tax advantages may allow you to categorize a percentage of both the entrance fee and monthly fee as a medical expense, and health services if ever needed in the future (see contract for details). Check with your tax advisor. For specific fee information, call us at (772) 266-0909.

Do fees ever increase?

Yes, occasionally there are increases in monthly fees to offset the cost of utilities, staff salaries and operating expenses. However, you will be notified in advance of any price increase.

Do I have to pay for health care?

LifeCare® at Sandhill Cove means you receive skilled nursing care in our health center, regardless of how long or how often, without paying a daily fee — ever. The only additional cost above your regular monthly fee is to cover the two extra meals per day, plus any ancillary costs and personal laundry.

Other services such as chiropractic care, acupuncture, massage and outpatient rehab therapies are available at additional cost, and may be covered by your private health insurance or Medicare. Visits to the nurse practitioner in our clinic are covered by your private health insurance or Medicare. However routine services such as flu shots may incur a nominal fee.
